Reproduction Adaptations
Mating occurs from March to May. When the Panda mates and is not yet ready to have a baby, they can have a delay in implantation which can last from 1-4 months. A delay in implantation means they can put off having their baby untill they are ready. Pandas may only have a litter once a year. In a litter there is two babys. Usally only one survives.

What are they classifyed under?
Red Pandas are cousins of the Giant Panda. The Red Panda is classifyed under the Raccoon family. The reason the Red Panda is grouped with Raccoons is they look almost exactly alike. Scientist are still debating whether or not a Giant Panda should be in the Bear family or the Raccoon family.
Competition and Aggression
Giant Pandas compete with Dhole's and Leapords; they are it's enemy!
Habitat
The Giant Panda lives in thick bamboo and coniferous forest at 8,500 to 11,500 feet in elevation.

Inherited Triats/Instincts
When Pandas are born they a blind. As they grow older they start to grow white fur with black(sometimes it is dark red) patches over their eyes, ears, legs, and their tale.
Diet
Pandas are picky eaters; they can spend 10-12 hours a day eating! They eat things such as bamboo stems and shoots, fruits of plant matter like kiwi, small mammals, fish and insects. Pandas can consume almost 80 lbs. of   food a day!

In captivity, giant pandas eat bamboo, rice porridge, sugar cane, carrots, apples, sweet potatoes, and a special high-fiber "panda bread," a mixture of ground bamboo, grains and assorted vitamins and minerals.

Pandas are able to swim and they can climb trees to escape predators. The Giant Panda has anlarged wrist bones that looks like thumbs to help them grasp objects!
